  • Advisors are essentially exactly the same as travel agents. However, the trade has gone through a rebranding and the term travel advisor was selected to reflect the level of personalization and care put into planning each trip.

Like financial advisors, we’re real people with great connections (and access to Fora’s industry veterans)! We love diving into all things travel and taking the stress of planning off of our clients’ plates.

  • For starters, I can create a trip from a daydream or, if you are further along with your trip arrangements, I can unlock perks and VIP amenities for cruises, and at hotels around the world. These may include, but are not limited to, room upgrades, daily breakfast, spa credit, early check in and/or late check out.

When you book through a travel advisor, you know someone’s got your back. We are your direct line to hotels, tour operators and other key contacts. Online booking platforms (think: Hotels.com, Booking.com or even Airbnb) might seem to offer a great deal, but if something goes wrong there's a slim chance of getting an actual person to deal with your problem. Let alone deal with it immediately.

Partnering with a travel advisor from the start of your trip planning greatly reduces risk of any problems arising during your trip.

Most importantly, we are talking about giving you back your time. Travel planning takes up a lot of it. Researching, coordinating logistics, booking airlines, hotels, car rentals, tours and activities, making restaurant reservations… And all of this needs to be done well in advance these days (revenge travel is real)! Fora Pros recommend planning three months in advance for domestic travel, and six months out for international travels.

  • Fora has a vast number of industry partnerships that allow their advisors to earn commissions on booked travel. The standard is 10% after taxes. Sometimes partners pay a higher commission, and others might pay a bit less.

But don’t be concerned that you pay any extra fees! You’ll pay the exact same rates that you see online.

Our hotel partners especially love working with us because they pay much more (roughly 30%) in fees to platforms like Booking.com. You’re also less likely to get a room upgrade when you use those channels!

  • This depends on how you see your trip taking shape. If it’s simply a hotel booking you need, there are no fees attached to me taking care of that for you. I’ll get compensated for my time once your trip is completed and a commission is paid out by the hotel to Fora, who in turn pays me.

Should you require more intensive trip research and/or itinerary planning, there are additional upfront fees and you can review those here.

  • All sorts! From adventure to business to VIP. Whether it’s a cruise, multi-generational getaway, or magical honeymoon, I can help you put all the moving parts in place.

  • The Fora Advisor community is very connected (through a dedicated online portal) so I have access to a huge global network that I can tap into at any time to gather the important (current!) data that will be infinitely useful to planning the best trip possible.

The cherry on top is that Fora HQ is staffed with industry veterans that are always on hand to answer the tough questions, and our tech team is second to none… You can check out the awards they are winning here.

  • I do not book flights as my specialties are on-the-ground experiences, luxury accommodations and activities. My clients book their own airfare and advise me of arrival/departure details.

I’ll also be honest in saying that if you are seeking last-minute travel deals and your budget is extremely tight, I’m probably not the right advisor to help you.
